Higher Council
Diplomatic Academy of Peru Javier Pérez de Cuéllar
The Higher Council of the Diplomatic Academy of Peru Javier Pérez de Cuéllar is the governing body responsible for establishing the general policy and academic guidelines of the institution.
The Council is chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru and is composed of senior authorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as distinguished representatives of the academic community.
The Higher Council oversees the proper functioning of the Academy, approves its main academic and institutional policies, and ensures that the institution fulfills its mission of training future members of the Peruvian Diplomatic Service.
Composition of the Higher Council
The Higher Council is composed of:
- The Minister of Foreign Affairs, who serves as Chair
- The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs
- The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- The Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Peru Javier Pérez de Cuéllar
- Representatives of the academic community and distinguished members appointed in accordance with the institutional regulations of the Academy
Functions
The Higher Council performs the following functions:
- Establishing the general policy guidelines of the Diplomatic Academy
- Approving the main academic programs and institutional regulations
- Overseeing the development and proper functioning of the Academy
- Ensuring that the institution fulfills its mission of training Peru’s career diplomats
- Supporting academic excellence and the institutional development of the Academy
