The call for applications is issued each year by Ministerial Resolution of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru.
Admission Process
Registration takes place on predetermined dates during the month of January and is conducted online through the Academy’s website (www.adp.edu.pe).
For the 2026 Admission Competition, the registration period will run from 2 to 12 January.
For the 2026 Admission Competition, the registration fee is S/. 600.00, as established in the current Single Text of Administrative Procedures (TUPA).
Payment must be made at branches of Banco de la Nación nationwide
or through the web platform www.pagalo.pe, using fee code No. 04520. The applicant’s National Identity Document (DNI) number must be provided when making the payment.
Beneficiaries of the Education Reparations Program (PIR) are exempt from payment, in accordance with Article 26 of the Organic Regulations of the Diplomatic Academy.
To obtain this exemption, applicants who are PIR beneficiaries must submit the Certificate of Accreditation of Registration in the Single Registry of Victims (RUV).
The examinations are held in Lima, as well as in the regional offices of the Decentralized Offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ODES) located in the cities of Chachapoyas, Arequipa, Cajamarca, Cusco, Iquitos, Piura, Puerto Maldonado, Puno, Tacna, Trujillo, Tumbes, Pucallpa, Moquegua
This stage includes the Written Knowledge Examination and the Written Conceptual Examination.
First Stage

- Knowledge ExaminationThis examination is based on the syllabus included in the Admission Prospectus issued annually and covers the following subjects:
- International Affairs
- Diplomacy and International Relations
- General Theory of Law, Public International Law, and the Peruvian Legal System
- Economics and International Trade
- Geography
- Political Science and the History of Political Ideas
- World History
- History of Peru
- Written Analytical Essay Examination
Applicants must develop two essays on current national or international issues.
- Knowledge ExaminationThis examination is based on the syllabus included in the Admission Prospectus issued annually and covers the following subjects:
Second Stage
Applicants who pass the two examinations in the first stage must take the following examinations in Lima:

- English Examination
- Psychotechnical Examination
- Psychological Examination
- Medical Examination
- Oral Analytical Examination (interview before a jury).
All examinations are eliminatory and must be passed in order to proceed to the next stage, and the results are published in due course on the Academy’s website.
The Admission Prospectus for each competition, which contains the applicable regulations, is available free of charge on the Academy’s website.
Admission is granted strictly in order of merit.
Those admitted to the Academy will undertake four semesters of graduate studies. Students who successfully complete all courses and defend the required research project and practical case study will receive:
- the professional title of Career Diplomat, and
- the Master’s Degree in Diplomacy and International Relations.
They are then entered into the Diplomatic Service of the Republic with the rank of Third Secretary.
